Chapter 8 - Alex finds out just what Hypnos is capable of.

About this podcast

He is a  thriller/action writer, she is a cozy mystery and fantasy reader.
Jon & Sam  find ourselves together, isolated during lockdown and…

“I have challenged my wife Sam, to sit and listen to every tawdry sentence of my thriller/horror book, says Jon, author of The Harvester. “From every cut of the knife, to the seedy sex clubs that my killer frequents. She will be free to gasp, giggle, comment in the only way I know she will, with her own brutal honesty and I will record every moment for you.”

This is less a book reading than it is an enlightening and humorous exercise. Jon says “I fear this may be as much of a challenge for me, as it is for her. Sit comfortably, pin your ears back, maybe have a stiff drink with me and listen to my podcast “I hate this book”.

Start of the new book HYPNOS.

CHAPTER 8

Who is Sam & Jon?

When I was new at a school in Cyprus, waiting for a history class. While hanging about, a group of girls walked along the playground. One particular girl stood out.

She had short blonde hair, spiked. Like Bridget Neilsen in the 80s hit film Cobra. Tight weight blouse, a grey tight ankle-length skirt, boxing type Nike trainers that disappeared up the ankle. I can still hear the song that drifted out of the Walkman headphone – Sweet Dreams are Made of These by the Eurythmics. I knew, right there and then, I had found my twin flame. I said to the boy stood next to me she is the girl that I was going to marry. He of course threw me a weird glance. I had only known him for five minutes, but there she was. A goddess, an angel that spun me off my feet and sent me into the stratosphere.

It took a while, though. I hold the pen here, Sam doesn’t get to comment. Never the less, we were married young, and last year (2020) we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary.

We have done so much together – and through the tears, the frustrations, the joy, we are still here and still together, stronger than ever before.

Sam runs a couple of six figure international business’s that are successful, celebrated in her industry. Considered an icon and guru, people from all over the world employ Sam in a multitude of things relating to education and business in the nail word. A trend setter and innovative, a lot of the mainstream nail products that are on the market is the brainchild of my incredible wife. Not a bad achievement from the humble beginnings at the dining room table 22 years ago.

I, as you know, am a full time published thriller writer and to pay my way in the world, I work in anaesthetics and orthopaedic surgery. A job from a previous life. Something that I love doing, but writing is my passion.

I hope you enjoy the podcast as much as we love making it.
